Expectations & Policies

Thank you for allowing us to help you on your educational journey!

In an effort to be perfectly clear, we wanted to take the opportunity to tell you a little about what we do, what we expect, and what you can expect from us.

We do our absolute best to ensure that our students understand the material they need to know. Whether it is standardized tests, math homework, or grammar and essay writing, our mission is to teach for true understanding. We do not teach ways to “outsmart” the tests or teachers, as those are detrimental to true understanding. We teach organically and uniquely to each student.

Due to the nature of teaching and tutoring, we can make NO guarantee of score or grade increases. While we do everything in our power to teach and assist, the final outcome is ultimately up to the student alone.

Attentiveness

During our lessons, we expect that the student(s) will be engaging with the discussion and the material. Phones are permitted for calculator use and looking up information related to the lesson. The tutor will be engaging with the discussion and material, too.

Punctuality

We expect students to be on time for their lessons, as we will make every effort to be on time. We hope that we will communicate with each other at our earliest convenience if we find it impossible to be on time for an appointment.

If the student is habitually late for their lessons, we will work together to find a time that is optimal for their schedule and ours.

Attendance

We expect students to attend their lessons. If they need to cancel for any reason, we expect to be notified as soon as possible.

  • If we do not receive notification before 24 hours before the lesson time, and the student does not attend the lesson, we expect to receive payment as if they had attended.

  • If the tutor needs to cancel our lesson, we will notify you and reschedule at our earliest convenience.

Payment

While we thoroughly enjoy our jobs, we do need to pay bills. We require payment for a given lesson before the lesson's start time. After we receive payment, we can then secure your appointment time. Appointment times are first come first served and are not guaranteed without prepayment.

You are welcome to prepay for a block of lessons or hours, and we offer discounts for prepaid blocks of lessons.

Payment links can be found here.

Payments can be made by any of the following methods:
